I’ve been in the business of making words work for three decades.

I’ve sat on both sides of the keyboard: As a freelance journalist, I wrote for national and international magazines and newspapers. Later, I joined an editorial team, creating and managing content for an award-winning website. Next stop? Working as managing editor for a San Francisco-based strategic content agency. Now I run my own editorial services business in the Bay Area.

My editorial, branding, and content marketing experience includes:

  • Serving as the content leader for a global, online small-business community. I managed all aspects of the editorial process and wrote articles, profiles, email marketing campaigns, and scripts for brand-driven videos. I collaborated regularly with product and marketing teams, as well as PR and ad agencies.
  • Partnering with executive leadership and culture coaches to create blogs, newsletters, website copy, social media posts, and more to share their unique messaging and voice.
  • Copywriting and collaborating with cross-functional teams for an award-winning Bay Area ad agency.
  • Developing industry-specific, research-driven content marketing articles and materials for a retail-focused technology brand focused on the consumer post-purchase experience.
  •  Writing conversion-focused email marketing campaigns for a global financial software company.
  • Leading comprehensive content development and strategy for an innovative start-up leveraging women’s economic power.
  • Crafting print- and online communications materials for small-business development and marketing.
  • Launching my own branded weekly newsletter called Newsy!. My Newsy! essays have been widely published in the U.S. and abroad.

What else?

I am versatile and efficient, with experience in a broad range of topics including small business and entrepreneurship, executive coaching and leadership, fintech, retail, women’s issues, parenting, health and fitness. The truth is, the subject matter doesn’t much matter. I can put your words to work and help transform them into powerful tools for branding, content marketing, and strategic communication.

I have an M.A. in English Literature from the Bread Loaf School of English (Middlebury College) and a B.A. in English from the University of Vermont. My academic scholarships and awards include Phi Beta Kappa and Magna cum Laude.

I was raised in the South Island of New Zealand. I’ve also called Vermont, Santa Fe, and San Francisco home. Now, my family and I live in Marin County, CA. I’m the co-founder of  Today I Noticed, a creative mindfulness practice based on paying attention (hop on over to our website to learn about our workshops for companies and teams).
